Title: Choosing a database: Picking the right tool for the job
Bio:
Richard Hipp is the architect and primary author of SQLite (see his Google talk on SQLite). He authored CVSTrac (the inspiration for Trac) and was a member of the Tcl core team. His interest in revision control continues in his work on the Fossil SCM.
Richard grew up in Atlanta and received his bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He worked as an engineer for AT&T before returning to school at Duke University. He received a doctorate in computer science and embarked on a consulting career. He is a principal with Hipp, Wyrick & Company, Inc.
