Title: Procurring a Perl Job

Synopsis:

The presentation will be an overview of the current employment market for Perl professionals as well as a guide on how to work effectively with Technical Recruiters. At the end, there will be time for questions related to IT Career trends in Atlanta, job hunting tips and strategies, interviews, resumes, and how Technical Recruiters can be more effective for Perl professionals.

Bio:

Ari Waller started as a technical recruiter with Thompson Technologies and is now their Vice President of Recruiting. His responsibilities with Thompson Technologies span management, recruiting leadership, and sourcing strategy. Despite his fancy title, Ari's professional passion is technical recruiting, and he takes a "very hands" on approach to day-to-day staffing operations with his team. He has personally placed over 600 technical professionals nationally and locally in a variety of skills sets. In February 1997, five months after he started in IT Recruiting, Ari placed his first Perl Programmer at Cox Interactive Media. Ari resides in the Atlanta area with his wife and three children.
